Brief
- August 9th, 1938. Boys at play in unincorporated Chippewa County stumble upon the body of a child. Identifying the remains proves a challenge: the jaw has been violently struck, displacing the teeth; face, hands and genitals have been dissolved with hydrochloric acid.
- The last persons believed to have seen the boy are 19-year-old Artie Flood, second cousin to the victim, and 21-year-old Judd Dresher. Both have been taking in for questioning.
